Coming from the Cookies Fam, London Poundcake is said to be a cross of Sunset Sherbert and an unknown heavy-hitting indica.
The Cookies Fam out of Los Angeles has created another delicious strain with London Pound Cake. In addition to tasting like a dessert, this strain’s THC tests at 26-30% regularly! To create this high-powered strain, they used Sunset Sherbet, but unfortunately, Cookies is not eager to share the winning formula, as the other parent strain remains an indica-dominant mystery.
The London Pound Cake buds are made up of coiled, olive-green leaves, with purple streaks radiating from some of the stems of those plants exposed to lower temperatures. Over half the buds’ surface area are tightly coiled clumps of fiery-orange pistils. A crystal trichome glaze gives the buds the appearance of a morning frost.
The aroma from London Pound Cake is quite strong, but pleasant. Lemon and citrus odors combine with an earthy pine scent. Combusting this strain reveals a sweet, vanilla cookie flavor, and sour berry aftertaste.
Considering the THC levels bordering at 30%, it is no wonder London Pound Cake has earned rave reviews from medicinal users. Consumers suffering from everything from PTSD and depression, to chronic pain and inflammation, to migraines and menstrual cramps say they have benefited from this strain.
Growing London Pound Cake should be left to the experienced cultivators, as this hybrid grows tall and has long branches that need frequent pruning/grooming. This makes it more susceptible to mold and mildew, made worse by the knowledge that it also doesn’t handle humidity well either, possibly doubling this potential threat.
